Hi. I'm Lorelai. Yes I am made of thread, no really I am. Stop doubting it. Anyway, I'm here and you can talk to me if you want, just know I'm still not the best with this whole 'socializing' thing. It's getting there though, at least I think it is.

It had been going through his mind lately.

He hadn’t seen her in a while, and he wasn’t sure if it was on purpose, or not. Something was amiss, and he knew it.

The past haunted him. He was guilty. He’d been guilty for a long time. Lorelai was on his mind frequently, and he knew why. Everytime he had met her, or seen her, there was always tension, that awkward, brooding tension. He hated it, he blamed himself. It was one of his biggest mistakes he made in a while.

He did not regret his feelings for Kaida, but he did regret how he treated Lorelai. He knew it was his fault. He had apologized in the past, but it didn’t feel right. It felt hollow, lacking, and rushed. He wanted to make things right. He needed to.

He had managed to contact her, to tell her that he wanted to talk. He wanted to meet her.

X stood quietly, looking to the sunset of Abel City. The Orbital Elevator was in the distance, right next to Jakob Corp’s HQ. The river extended from Jakob Corp, all the way to the park near the heart of the city. It was a relaxing spot, pretty free from all the bustle and moderness of the HQ.

It was the perfect place to talk.

God, what a place to pick for meeting. She wandered along slowly, staring into the distance lazily as the still warm sun cast some light over the city and the vast river, a sparkle along the water. It really was a pretty spot but… having to look at the vague outline of the infamous company and that huge elevator extending into the skies was unpleasant at best.

Damn. That lift really was huge, considering it was visible from Abel and it was supposedly somewhere on The Galapagos Islands, which was roughly off the coast of South America. Massive.

She didn’t know how this talk would go down, the location already gave her a weird sort of feeling in her chest, the threaded being wondered if she really should have any sort of feeling like that at all. It was just… goo in there.

Lorelai honestly couldn’t say she thought this talk would be beneficial, he relationship with X was rocky at best as a result of how poorly she handled her emotions. It wasn’t an issue of what had happened with them so long ago, she liked Kaida, the woman was positively lovely. Just… somehow X always managed to catch Lorelai when she was about to burst from feelings she honestly didn’t know what to do with. Her opinions on the world and the issues in it probably didn’t help relations between them either.

But she had to do this, it was about time she actually resolved something.

X heard the footsteps behind him. His hand was resting gently on a tree. He closed his eyes, looking down to the ground slightly as he did so. It finally was happening, and he knew it was time to make things right. Or at least attempt to. A soft sigh escaped his mouth, but then he looked towards her.

He smiled. It wasn’t very big or happy looking, but it was a smile. It was soft, and very passive. There was no reason to be grinning, but there certainly was no reason to be hostile or dreary.

"Hey." He said calmly.

What else was there to start with?

She kept just a bit of distance between them, standing a step or two away from X and not exactly meeting his gaze just yet. Though slowly she did, any sort of real emotion seemed to be devoid from her dark eyes.

She gave a soft smile back, gently setting her bag down and giving a short sigh. Lorelai was a little slouched, standing in a tired sort of way. Though there wasn’t any visible reason as to why she’d be tired., it wasn’t like she did much of anything.

"Hi." she replied, a sort of warmness to how she spoke.

"You wanted to talk to me?"

Do me a favor. Reblog this if you welcome the use of ask memes as icebreakers between characters that have never, or rarely, interacted before.

Anonymous: What is the greatest obstacle you've risen above?

She pondered that for a moment. She could say getting away from those who had used her a test subject but… something else was much more prominent to her at the moment.

"It’s… myself. In many ways I’m still an obstacle to myself. I know I can be easily swayed but I’ve worked to change that, I don’t want to be some beast with the most fragile of emotions, nor do I want to be afraid of the world around me and oh… what a world it is." She smiled softly.

"So yeah. The answers me."

cybeasts: Freeze very quietly hugged Lorelai, looking a bit nauseous and extremely tense as she glared at the creature-anon-thing. "..."

She slowly hugged back, a hand upon Freeze’s head in a comforting sort of way, arguably protective at that and very gently petting her hair. “Don’t worry about it.”

"…Just… it’s alright."

Anonymous: Often times morals clash with scientific or technilogical advancement. Are these moral concerns justified or should morality be cast aside for the sake of progress?

Her expression turned sour almost instantly, the threaded being’s eyes darkened, if it were even possible, the vague little sparkle present in her eyes soon became nigh non-existent, they stared at the creature before her asking her such a question.

"I don’t think that is a question you should be asking me." Lorelai sounded harsh, lowering a little to glare down at the curious creature. "How dare you come to me with a question like that. I think my answer to that is obvious, wouldn’t you think?”

"Years. I have spent years, upon years of my life as both a method of ”advancement” and living with the results of that. Morals should come into play when science moves forward, especially when doing so involves the mutation and harm of other people. Morals should stop such inhumane acts occurring, they definitely matter.” Her tone softened just a tad.

"But, sometimes that doesn’t… happen. Actually, more often than not morals are completely thrown aside because the prospect of improving on what already exists is just too ”appealing”. That is when you get weird shit like me, that is when countless people have any sort of dignity and decency stripped away from them. They become these… hollow shells, or they end up dying due to whatever horrible things have happened to them."

"So yes. Moral concerns are perfectly, entirely and undeniably justified." She took a long, deep breath and pointed to the left.

"Now get the fuck out of my sight, please.”

the-anonymous-being: "How's having an important job going. Is that fun. Like, really fun? That was kind of mean but, yeah. Hi."

the-jakob-project:

"Huh?" Leo blinked for a second.

He looked towards Lorelai, that was certainly different. “Oh, Lorelai. It’s been a long time.”

"I can have fun with what I do, but it’s still a career no matter what. What about you?"

"You bet it has been. I’ve been alright." She smiled at him, casually popping open her little tin and going right ahead to nibble on one of her cookies. Apparently, in the little bubble Lorelai lived in cookies were always present. She shook the tin in Leo’s direction. "Y’want one? They taste pretty good."

She also offered them to everyone. Cookies make the world go round. “I actually wanted to ask you a couple of things if you’re not to busy? It’s stuff I’ve always wanted to know.” she laughed a little as she spoke. “Kinda bugging me that I don’t know actually.”
